I was excited about getting my newly painted calipers all back together so i could drive my baby and did this.

Our technicians tell us it may be necessary to replace the steering knuckle and hub assembly along with resurfacing the rotors to correct this concern. They said it is not a safety issue but they would be happy to remove the ceramic brakes and put on toyota brakes and of course turn the rotors and charge me an arm and a leg. If the disc and drum brake systems are very dirty this can cause noise. And from a comfort standpoint ceramic compounds provide much quieter braking because the ceramic compound helps dampen noise by generating a frequency beyond the human hearing range.

The ingredients in ceramic compounds produce a light colored dust that is much less noticeable and less likely to stick to the wheels. An abnormal noise and or vibration may be noted from the front brakes during light braking. If you hear the noise when braking most likely it s your brakes if it makes noise while driving above 50 mph and it sounds like a hum noise it may be a wheel bearing starting to make noise. If it s a serious grinding noise pull off your wheels and verify that you have pad to rotor contact and didn t put the pad in backwards so the backing plate is grinding against the rotor.

Brake dust as well as other road contaminants can cause uneven brake applications which in turn results in noise. I took it to the dealership where i have all my service done and they said the noise is because of the ceramic brakes.
